1. I'm very happy about his return
Correction *Green Bay* has been sucking as a *team*. Without Favre...they wouldn't be 1/10th as good as they are. They had an 8-8 season, which was a huge improvement from the previous year. He is struggling with a very young team that only he could help to mature into a super bowl team. Mark my word, they will be in the playoffs next year and most certainly will have the NFC title in their hands. It will be Favre's last year.

2. I welcome him back for another year, however
He should include in his "announcement" that this will be his last year. That's fair to the fans, his teammates and the front office. I hope he doesn't keep Packer fans wondering if he's in or out next season. Its a toss up right now whose Jersey is selling the most in South Mississippi, Manning or Favre. Manning's is a one time phenomenon. His stuff replaced all the Saint's stuff overnight last week.

3. As a displaced Vikings' fan
45 minutes from the heart of Packerland, I'm happy. At least they won't be moving forward as a team, and the draft pick they spent on Rogers will be wasted since his contract is up and I'm sure he will either be out of there or suck for lack of development.

He should have hung it up. He should have let the team move forward.

4. It was announced yesterday
that he just renewed his endorsement contract with a local huge car dealership for another year, so I figured this was coming.

5. I think he should have retired
The interceptions went way down but so did the completion percentage, to 56%. He's now had two straight years of lousy yards per attempt, 6.4 in '05 and 6.3 this season. That's similar to Marino the last couple of years, when Dolphin fans kept wanting to pretend Marino still had it but the numbers screamed otherwise.

The problem was the stupid draft pick on Aaron Rodgers. The rest of the league figured him out, allowing Rodgers to plummet to #24 after the long speculation he could be picked first by the 49ers. I attended the USC/Cal game during Rodgers' senior year and there were literally sorority girls sitting near me who were laughing at Aaron Rodgers. You could see receivers breaking open downfield but Rodgers wanted nothing of it. He insisted on ignoring anything risky and throwing dinky 3 and 5 yard passes. He completed a long string of them, but it was meaningless, in fact masochistic.

I returned home from that game and was sure Rodger would be ridiculed for the performance. Then somehow the media was proclaiming it a great effort. Finally, Merrill Hoge leading up to the draft on ESPN identified that game as an example of why he would reject Rodgers, breaking down the game perfectly, that he threw nothing downfield.

9. This just in: John Maden, etc., etc., buy new sets of knee pads.
Favre was a force of nature in the '90s. Now the whole fawning spectacle surrounding him alternates between annoying and sad.

10. I'll take him over a majority of QB's in the NFL
But then I am biased. Hardcore Packer fan, to the point I refuse to root for the bears in the "big game"(don't want any copyright violations).

12. Yeah.
Geez, Brett, you've won a Super Bowl...call it a career already. 17 years is way too fucking long.
