Wow. The Jags look unstoppable.
I never got much of a chance to watch Garrard play this season, but he is one impressive QB. Now they're up 28-10 on another sweet drive. If they go on to win this game, they go to NE, right? This team might just have a shot at the upset, the way they're playing right now.

1. It's why i wanted Pittsburgh to win.
The Jags have been a solid team all year, and they are a true threat to NE and the rest.

By the way, love the Carl Sagan quote. I always thought he was awesome ever since I first saw, and then read, Cosmos. He's missed.

2. They still make mistakes...
as evidenced on that touchdown throw. 4th and long, you stop them and the game is pretty much over. They call an aggressive blitz, Pittsburgh picks it up, and gets the easy 7.

Yep, Sagan was a huge loss. We lost out on a lot of wisdom when he died.

Thankfully I don't give a rip who wins this one - I'm just rooting for good football, and I'm winning! :)

14. That was quite a good game!
I didn't particularly care who won. I watched the first Jags/Steelers game week 15, but for some reason I never noticed just how huge Garrard is!

All in all, today was a good day for football, and

I thought they should have been up by 3 scores by halftime.

Yes, they easily handled a Steelers team decimated by injury.

Pats did that pre-injury.

And beat Jax 28-0 last year.

Same Jax team this year? Yup.

Same Pats team?

Um...no.

Yeah, they scare me. Yeah, I wanted P'burgh.

Yeah, if you want to bet on it, I'll entertain the idea...and even spot you some points?

Want the points?

That means you don't believe they can win.

How 'bout this...

$100.

Donated to DU, in the name of the DUer chosen by the winner. Whomever loses, someone here gets a star.

No points. No BS.

Straight up.

Yes? No?

18. Well if you're taking last years results as a gage
then Indy wins again.

The Jags were the first team ever in Pitt history to beat the Steelers twice in their own crib. That ain't nothin to sneeze at.

I am so damn glad the Pats won't be playing Pitt cause they would have beat them like a drum -- again.

This Jag team at least makes things interesting.

I don't get your "no points" bet? The Pat's are the anointed team hand-picked by God and you're not giving points? Too me,that's a chicken shit bet. At least bet the guy the line.

If the Pat's handle the Jags handily next week, then perhaps they are the anointed ones.... then again????????

Doesn't sound like someone who wants, needs or is interested in getting/giving points.

In my humble o.

;)

He asks, we'll talk...but he sounds confident.

And for good reason. Jax gets up one score, and then deployes that running tandem...gonna be a long day, maybe.

Then again, they had pretty much the exact same team last year, almost to a man, and a vastly inferior version of the Pats waxed them but good, 28-0.

So.

:)

A "no points" Pats bet?

Marginally chickenshit. Let me rephrase that. Totally chickenshit.

The Jags would be on the road. You have to give at least three. Bare minimum.

The line would be minimum -6 Pats.

21. I couldn't possibly bet with you, Will.
Your masculinity is so obviously tied to the success of your team, it could end very badly.

But seriously, there's no challenge here. Sheesh, why do you think I said they "might" pull an upset?

22. Um...
"This team might just have a shot at the upset"

And the personal insults aren't really necessary. Thought I'd ask if you wanted to place a wager on the game is all; fishinfla is in for $20. Why you tossed in the "masculinity" "frat boy" garbage is a mystery. Never been to a frat, and lots of people bet on sports, etc. etc.

Go lie down or something.

20. What the deal with their coach?
he doesn't do anything but watch, or cheer. I dont think I saw him say a word into his headset. Then again, the Steelers coach was doing the same thing. It was weird, hands off coaching approaches

31. Not being healthy didn't help but it wasn't why we lost
Jacksonville's a real solid team. They do do alot of things well on both sides of the ball.

We had a real good chance to win. As bad as Ben played in the first half we still had a big chance to win. Ben gets that first down instead of having to punt Jacksonville might not get the ball back. Troy doesn't blitz on the 4th & 2 he may have stopped him for just enough yardage for a first down. That would have still meant that the Jags would have had to continue with a passing game which was doing very little in the second half. Instead of a game winning chip shot it may have been a game winning 50+ yarder for the win.

Neither team played exceptionally well the entire game. The Jags are off to NE. I do thing they match up a little better against them overall than Tennessee would have.

We had a good season. Rookie coaches generally don't take teams this far their first year. We had key injuries at bad times of the year. Their replacements didn't play as well as we would have liked. As a team we lost our edge at times. That happens.

Next year is a whole nother year. I like the team as a whole but there are certainly areas where we need to get better. Hopefully we will.
