Is there any question now how totally spaced-out Bud Selig is? He is a disgrace. He and the owners are what is wrong with baseball.

2. Making a Stupid Joke
If you click into the link you will see a video. In the video you see Selig talking when his cell phone rings. He seems to say in a joking way that he will get fined for his phone going off. He then says it is only his wife he will "punch her out". I think he was joking, but regardless it was a very stupid joke. He should not have said what he said. Check out the video at the link.

4. Someone on another site actually thought that Selig was...
talking about punching out (not accepting) her calls on the cell phone. But after he called her "just my wife", I can see that there is a definite need for a marriage counselor.

BTW, the damn phone rang two more times during the press conference. I hate people who don't know how or when to turn those things off!

5. When I was a young Lad
in the 70's working for a TV Station and covering a murder trial, my beeper went off. The judge threw my ass out of his court, and that was the right thing to have done. He let me back in after the next break.

Sorry, I posted before I saw the video.

Did he mean "punch her out" like disconnect the call? I assume thats what he meant but he could have used better words.

7. What does it say about the baseball owners?
Remember that Selig was Acting Commissioner and owner of the Milwaukee Brewers at the same time.

THAT IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Doesn't say much for the ethics of the owners.
