Penguins pummel Flyers to advance to the Stanley Cup Final! Woo hoo!
They completely dominated the Flyers today to win the Eastern Conference championship - opponent will be either Detroit or Dallas.

This team is very special and although young, has played brilliantly throughout the playoffs. They're deep, they're fast and they're playing amazing D (I never thought I'd say that about the Pens).

It's been 16 long years - Let's Go PENS!!!!!

2. Our D is finally getting some recognition,
They think it's just the Crosby/Malkin show out there.

It's not a coincidence that the emphasis on D in the last part of the season has carried throughout the playoffs.

It's not just Fluery playing good.

Major kudos to Ray Shero in bringing Hal Gill here. He's been what we've lacked for many a year.

3. I know; it's exciting to watch.
I almost can't believe what I'm seeing after so many years of lackluster incompleteness; bankruptcy and almost losing the team.

What I am impressed with is the forwards' involvement; they give the D the opportunity to hang back. Some might call it a trap (ICK) but it's not. All players on the ice involved and going at the puck at all times. It's not the Crosby/Malkin show - all lines are productive.

Yeah, Gill was a great pick-up. AND - Fleury is playing up to the potential that was promised 5 years ago.

If it ends up being Detriot, I have no doubt we can beat them. They aren't as formidable as one would think. A lot of chinks in the armor giving up the past two games to Dallas.

4. Got to give Dallas credit for those wins.
They've played a stifling defense all year, and just found their groove with it in the last two against Detroit, and Turco played great. I don't think Detroit has too many chinks at all. When Hasek is a backup goalie the team is in good shape. :)

The Pens are a nicely balanced team that will be tough for anyone to beat though. The D has been excellent, which is what wins Cups, and like you say, it's not a trap at all, just good hard work and backchecking like a team should do.

I'll be rooting for the Pens no matter which team they draw. I think Detroit will be the team they face, and it should be an awesome series.

After the last couple of years for you guys this must be very sweet. As a Bruins fan I wouldn't know. x(
