Joey Crawford and the Spurs
Should Joey Crawford be allowed to be the ref at Spurs games? It does not seem that Crawford affected Duncan's game this time around, but in an earlier game I think Duncan claimed that just Crawford's presence at the game caused him problems. In this game Duncan missed a few shots that could have helped his team. Is it possible that each time Crawford refs a game Duncan does not play his best for fear that Crawford might call him for unnecessary fouls.

I am not trying to make excuses for the Spurs. I am actually routing for the Lakers to win the series. In addition, I am very happy the Lakers won last night's game. However, I do wonder if Crawford's presence has the ability to weaken Duncan's game. I lean more toward the idea that Crawford should not be allowed to ref in Spurs games at least for a few years. So, what do others think?

1. On the contrary.
I think Tim Duncan should not be allowed to play in any game ref'd by Joey Crawford.

(See how dumb that sounds?)

2. My Point is not Dumb
It is a well known fact that Joey Crawford has had and may still have problems with Tim Duncan and Greg Popovich. In addition, Duncan is a player for the Spurs, therefore he cannot be removed from games. However, Crawford is a ref and can be assigned to different games. It is very possible that the presence of Crawford cause problems for Duncan because of past problems with Crawford.

3. Got Your Back, ERP
I think it's a simple solution. Crawford could do games in the East. If the Spurs make the Finals, then we might have a conflict, because Joey consistently grades as high as any ref in the game. So, you couldn't exclude him from a Finals, but you'd sure have eliminated the suspicion in the semi's.

4. Just have Bennett Salvatore referee instead of Crawford in the finals!
