As a USC fan, can't say I'm upset....but still nervous.

"onepeated" as national champions. (as opposed to repeating as they claim) The OnePeats.

5. Gotcha... I must be tired tonight.
USC is very dominant at home again non-conference opponents. And you gotta give them credit for not scheduling teams like La Jolla Prep or other such nonsense as other teams do to pad their records.

8. That's true some years more than others.
Right now 4 outta the 10 are ranked in the top 25.

10. As opposed to 4 SEC teams in the top 10. And last year Ohio St. spot against us probably

should have gone to Georgia. It would have at least been a better game.

12. Let's not forget..
The SEC has the most ranked teams in the Top 25 and is arguably the best conference in college football (it has more national championships to boast about, and more in-conference coaches with at least one national championship under their respective belts).

15. My opinion is that's it's too early to really tell who's gonna be the cream of the crop.
When the SEC teams are playing schools other than UAB, Mid. Tennessee, Samford and *cough* North Texas it will be a better indication of their mettle.

17. Uh.
They do play other schools than those schools. They just happen to be, uh, OTHER SEC schools that tend to either be ranked pre-season in the Top 25 or work their way into the Top 25 as the season progresses.

Since the inception of the BCS, one conference has won 40% of the championships. Take a stab at what conference that is?

19. It's not like the BCS has been around for a long time.
Nothing's gonna change your disrespect of the Pac-10. You're entitled to your opinions. And the schools I mentioned were really related to my statements about USC specifically not padding their schedules with non-conference fluff teams. Scheduling these easy games is not limited to the SEC...everyone does it. It's just a practice that I think lessens the process of determine a team's true strength. And that's MY opinion.

And I'm sure you'll enjoy the ass-whooping LSU will lay down on North Texas tomorrow and I'll just cross my fingers and hope SC lives up to the early "hype" and takes care of Ohio. I'm just bummed my hubby isn't going to be here to watch it with me. He's really the only person I can watch USC games with because I tend to "talk" to the TV....A LOT, during the games....LOL

All that matters is that we're both Democrats. LOL

I like to tug at the strings of other football fans. If you guys love your Trojans as much as I do my Tigers, then I'll always respect that. Besides, I'm exhausted with living in a red state. California could be my new home in a couple of years.

22. You're a Democrat? LOL
I kid, I kid. I'm a rabid SC fan and I'll always be there rooting for them, but, whether you believe it or not, I ONLY brag about them AFTER they win. I always manage to convince myself they're gonna lose every game. Low expectations are easier to deal with than over-confidence.

I hear ya about the exhaustion of living in a red state. I'm in Arizona for fuck's sake..LOL. At least I'm not in Phoenix though.

I loved going to college in California, but you couldn't pay me enough to move back there. The older I get the more I despise big cities. I traded the lifestyle of automatically hopping in the car and driving for more than an hour to do just about anything to bitching about having to drive 4 whole miles to COSTCO...LOL

13. I think SC or Georgia would have been a much better game.
Ohio just can't seem to win the big ones.

This is only SC's second game this year, so I'm still waiting to evaluate their true strengths. And I guess the one good thing about the BCS is that it does give us the opportunity to "test" our opinions about overall conference strengths. We shall see.

4. The reference.
USC has only won one BCS championship (and not the back-to-back championships AP Tied/BCS Championships claimed for '03/'04 ), hence one-peat.

Ohio State has had its ass handed to it by the SEC in bowl games with an 0-9 record.

Beanie Wells not playing in the game really is a big snore-fest. Stack the box and he's not that big of a running threat.

7. I guess it's all your perspective.
In my mind they shared the title one year, outright won it other. Nothing unbiased to a college football fan I guess.

So, yes, I am biased. There's no such thing as agreeing to BCS rules and then wanting to piss and moan about a shared AP title at the end of the season. It's poor sportsmanship.

USC has done it for years, and it's lapdog ESPN overhypes both them and Ohio State every year.

Ohio State has been creamed the last two championships because its conference is a cakewalk, and USC has good seasons, yet loses to piss-ant football programs like Stanford.

What will happen this year is no different than the last two years. The SEC champion will play either a very overhyped USC or Ohio State and the crystal football will remain in the SEC.

11. It's too early to tell if they're overhyped.
I don't think tomorrow will be a cakewalk under any circumstances. I also agree that SC's downfall has been losing focus against weaker conference opponents. We'll just have to agree to disagree about whether SC has earned the right to some respect....the same with LSU.

14. Same with LSU?
Uh, no.

Two of the last five years LSU has been the BCS champion (in four of the last six years, they've played in a BCS bowl game and won all of them -- respect EARNED). USC has played in two of the last five BCS championship games and lost the game (AT HOME) to Texas in the Rose Bowl and they beat the crap out of Oklahoma because a 13-0 Auburn was hosed out of playing in the championship (even though Oklahoma lost to LSU the previous year).

This season is different because of our QB situation. Like I've already posted, I might begin to respect USC when I can begin to respect their conference.

16. Like they have control over what conference they're in?
We'll see who's standing at the end. There's a decent chance it won't be USC or LSU.

Last thing I wanna see is Beanie running through the tunnel and firing up the Buckeyes.
