Warner asks The Boss to play a Spiritual Medley at the half.
Overheard at Thursdays press conference with Bruce Springsteen. After the Q&A, Arizona QB Kurt Warner took the singer aside and requested a few songs of his own. Citing that "Easter was the Real Super Sunday" and "these fucking heathens need to find some God" Warner asked The Boss to do a medley of The Lord's Prayer, Ave Maria and The Bible Tells Me So. And IF he had time "maybe a version of Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah". His personal favorite. "And please dedicate it to my wife". I DO NOT make this shit up.

8. My source says there's more.
As Springsteen mumbled about playing Its Hard to Be A Saint in the City, Warner used it as the perfect segue. He told the assembled jounalists, TV and radio announcers there, that it was "OK to call Arizona the SAINT Louis Cardinals for the Super Bowl". He liked the ring of that a little better. Just then a bell rung signaling the end of the press conference. Warner says "see that, another fucking angel just got his fucking wings". The place went nuts. Surreal stuff.

10. Close, happyiowan. Sonja Henie.
Actually, He's one of the pre-eminent sports media figures of the last 20 years. I went to college with him and was in the same frat for a time. The last time I saw him, we were playing some one-on-one hoop. In my backyard. I sprained my ankle. 1982. Great sense of humor.

11. God will tell Kurt Warner where to go...
In an ESPN interview Warner says when asked if he will retire after the game..he said "Its up go God." He said after the season is over, he will pray about it. He said if God sends him elsewhere, he will go, but right now, I guess, God holds his contract.
