The Mets commit only 1 error tonight
leading to their 20th unearned run in 39 games.

1. They're still a good team
just going through a bad streak...seems to happen to a lot of teams when they play the Dodgers.

And the manager really tore the team a collective new one in the clubhouse after yesterday's game.

2. They're definitly hitting a funk
I don't see anything about the Dodgers that compels me to think they are unbeatable. Billingsly was pretty awful tonight. The Mets 6-8 hitters have been just god awful. Most of em are call ups filling holes. I felt at the beginning of the season they needed another bat. That was with Delgado in the line up.

Maine was pretty mediocre tonight and I think Niesse is gonna get another look at some point. At least they have some depth for starters and Niesse was awesome in his last start.

3. This is very frustrating. When it's once in a blue moon and
the Dodgers actually play someone over .500, that team chokes.

The Giants recently took 2-of-3 in L.A.

I don't understand why it's such a mystery for everyone else.

4. There's just something very off with the Mets right now
It started that last game in San Fran and they haven't recovered yet. Their play on the feild and their at bats indicate something is rotten in the locker room. Their heads are just not in the game.

Teams also seem to have a stretch like this every season and the Mets seem to be hitting their's now. I don't see much in LA that makes them this unbeatable juggernaught. As bad as the Mets have been in this series that have been just slightly better.

5. Well, there's nothing to be ashamed of getting blanked by
Matt Cain.

But yea, they didn't play very well at all against the mediocre Braves in NY before they came to San Francisco.

And while they beat the Giants 3-out-of-4, fair and square, they didn't look that dominant if that males sense.

When the pathetic Giants offense lights up Johan Santana, you know something's up.

All I know is I wouldn't bet a nickel on them to win in the postseason, considering their track record. They should have a much better record, when you look at what they have on paper in terms of talent.

6. A lot of those guys your talking about "on paper"
are out of the lineup.

Delgado and Reyes (he's injured again).

Guys like Reed and Martinez don't belong in the line up.

The Mets will probably make a deal at some point for another bat. Probably around late June. Delgado is out ten weeks.

7. Well at least improve enough to return the favor and sweep
LA when they go to New York in July.

Because what just happened in Los Angeles is really quite disgraceful.

You guys are lucky the Phillies are only playing like a .500 team.

9. We kicked the crap out of Philly all last season
And that trend has continued this season.

We see LA again in July. I don't know where this team is gonna be but if they are facing Santan and Pelfrey we'll win. LA kinda stinks on the road anyways.

10. Well if you consider 12-10 on the road stinking, I guess ..
albeit they've played, with the exception of Philadelphia, nothing but easy teams so far.

It would be just their luck to miss Santana again.

11. That what I was factoring in
Playing mostly sub .500 teams and having a road record 2 games over .500 is not very encouraging. It denotes that fact that it is still very early in the season and nothing is written in stone yet.

18. Not taking anything away from the Mets, but the Red Sox will
be following in the footsteps of the Bruins and Celtics this season,

There are more than a hand full of teams better than Boston.
