3. Go Wings!
I am a tad bit worried about all the players that didn't play due to injury. Are the Wings getting any of them back?

4. Helm won "Best Shift of The Year" tonight in the 3rd period.
Nothing short of incredible.

5. I'm rooting for Pittsburgh
Malkin and Crosby have been on fire. And Fleury is probably a better goalie than Osgood.

Man, this must be killing MrPerson. His team is in the finals and he can't even come here and gloat. Maybe he'll send his "girlfriend" over instead...

6. That was a hell of a game last nite,
both Huet and Osgood stood on their heads. It was a shame that a team had to lose. Helms most certainly deserved to get the winner. I agree that shift he had in the third was just unbelievable.

This is going to be a better series than last year. I think the lost last year matured the Pens more than people think. It also doesn't hurt that Detroit may not be coming in at 100%.

7. Last time there was a rematch in the cup....
Was Islanders Edmonton. The Islanders had been dominant of the league for many years, and they beat Edmonton and a young Gretzky the year before....And the Oilers matured and came back and started their own string of dominance.

I'm hoping history repeats itself in a way.

Lets Go Pens.

10. I love it. They play just like the Russian squads of the 70's.

Their game totally relies on puck control. It's fascinating to watch as no other team in the league plays such a similar style to the Russian teams that were so dominant.

I do prefer a more physical style of play, mind you, but I have no problems watching the Wings play. Grace and skill up the wazoo, with just enough tough players to have a presence in front of the net. They're a perfectly balanced team, and scary to watch when they're really on their game.

11. The Wings did a lot of clutchin' and grabbin' in the neutral zone for years. Hockey on molasses. nt

13. Not anymore, and not in awhile.
And until the rules changes after the strike everyone was clutching and grabbing. It got to the point where even a hardcore hockey guy like me got bored with it. :)

15. Isn't Sweden part of Russia?
I get my geography books from the State of Texas and that's what it says.

9. I'm gonna have to go with Detroit...
Since the Stealers won the Super Bowl (with a little ref help) they have enough this year.

17. The Wings can play tough when pushed. I do like watching the passing game.
What I really like are the puck control skills that Z and Pav have (I watched the postgame last night and learned lots of new nicknames from Clearly - Zetterberg is Z, Filpulla is Fil, Lidstrom is Lid, Datsyuk is Pav, etc.) And the Mule is the Mule!

I concur re Ozzie. He has played consistently and at times brilliantly.

I like good hard hockey as much as the next person. I DON'T like gratuitous violence with an intent to harm. And I don't like superstars getting a posse to protect them, the way Gretzky used to.

I'm looking forward to the rematch!
