Next seven games are against Pittsburgh and Washington wich is sort of a repreive given the injuries. Then again, those two always find ways to give em a hard time.

Kind of unfortunate thing about this is that if it weren't for the two september collapses this little run by the little team that could would be a nice sports story.

This year we are beating those also ran teams while also beating Philly.

Literally. I exercise the "personal" clause in the rooting for teams other than your own law when it comes to hockey. I don't know that I want to get into all the details but let's just say that Ed Snider, the Flyers owner, personally and unjustly took food off of my family's table.

My father drank from The Cup with the Broad Street Bullies and my brother and I hung out with the players' kids during daytime team practices. Obviously we were huge Flyer fans. But Snider fucked my dad and a few others over and it's been a bitter pill since 1978. One of the other guys involved went to work for the Islanders and we would go up to the Coliseum all the time. At least 20 games a year. We had front row seats, we got to go in the locker room and meet the players. We would go up early and my dad's friend would let us skate on the ice. I have sticks and jerseys and other momentos from those great Islander teams, given to us from the players. I got to sit next to Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from Rush during the 80-81 finals when I was 11 years old. We had that connection through the mid-90s until my dad's friend retired. We still go up at least once a year.
