After the ramble...a question

I would like to insert the following text prior to the prologue, to further lay the foundation for the story and the intention. Similar to Da Vinci Code's "Fact" page at the very beginning. Sorry, it's the only example that comes to mind. ;)

Unlike other introduction sections which include quotes or other items to support their novel, what follows is fiction. I completely made it up (though many believe it to be a truth). But, to me, it's intriguing and, as I said, provides a beautiful foundation for the story (actually for the four-part series).

Technical question: what would a page like this be called? I know an epigraph refers to facts, quotes and so on. What if it is something fictional, inserted to give the illusion of it being factual, yet vague enough that it cannot be supported? Especially in the realm of spiritual matters, I would think this is okay? I could even use a fictitious name of a university...that may be best, now that I think about it, although LSU had no problem since it's so vague (I did check with them).


Even if you dislike the idea of such a page, or simply how I have written it, can someone tell me what part of the book this would be, its official name?

"There will come a time when powerful signs herald a crossroads for Humanity. Over a preordained period, four distinct, devastating conflicts between peoples throughout history will be confronted – one at a time - so as to heal suffering at the core, bringing about a state of wellness and balance. The prophetic elders knew they had to protect this knowledge, as there would always be those who would seek to maintain their control of power. The elders' descendants became protectors of this ancient wisdom tradition – sometimes knowingly, sometimes not – with their lives intrinsically entwined in guardianship of the sacred prophecy.
The painful disparities of the past and present must be brought to the surface to be honored and healed. Accountability will be imperative once a shift toward stability is initiated. The fate of All rests with a universal awakening…"

could you just use the word for preface or foreword in Latin?

preface
prooemium -i n. preface , introduction, prelude.

that it is authenticated? If it is the preface/prelude, it seems it could be stated as fact and the stating it is authentication enough. That is, unless there is a reason to mention an authority.

Again, something to think about. I suppose I could indeed just state it's a Choctaw shaman proclamation or something to that effect. Thanks for the thought. :)
