(Associated Press)Lynch would sign repeal of parental notification lawBy Norma Love, Associated Press Writer | February 8, 2007
CONCORD, N.H. --Gov. John Lynch said Thursday he will sign a bill to repeal
New Hampshire's parental notification law -- currently in limbo as a result
of a court battle.
Spokesman Colin Manning said Lynch believes the unconstitutional law fails
to protect the health and safety of all women.
"If a bill repealing this flawed law were to reach the governor's desk, he would
sign it," Manning said.
The House Judiciary Committee listened to 3 1/2 hours of testimony Thursday
on legislation to repeal the law, which required abortion providers to notify
at least one parent at least 48 hours before performing an abortion on a minor.
