Snow day yesterday. Snow day today. Snow day tomorrow.
6 to 10 inches of snow expected tomorrow. So there's a good chance we'll be out the rest of the week. Record breaking cold and several of our schools have broken water pipes.
They still haven't cleared the streets of the snow that fell on Christmas Day.
Monday is a teacher work day so we may not see our kids until a week from today.
Never in all my years teaching have we had a winter this bad.
17. That's because it all got dumped here, in Southwest Michigan 24" to date!
it has snowed lake effect since last Friday and tomorrow system snow 5-7 inches starts with lake effect after that! I do love it though, and yes we had school today and will tomorrow, but Fri. is up for grabs.
Back in the CO hinterland parents got really, really upset if school was called for anything less than an actual dead frozen student. :D
Here in Denver Mrs. Robb's been sent (or kept) home a handful of times this year. There's the whole transportation end of things in a big-honkin' district like this (70-odd schools, IIRC).
The rural districts get out all the time but the city kids have to go to school. It's all about clearing the streets so the bus can pick up the darlings.
