I was hoping to find out if he would continue as mayor (because he supports Rhee's reforms and Obama supports both of them).

If only Arne could dribble his ball off into the sunset with "Chancellor Rhee".

10. Kwame Brown (new city council chief) wants to keep Rhee on for 2 years
Until mayoral control of the schools ends (they've already burned through something like 7 head administrators in 5 years and they prefer stability-with-problems to yet another turnover).

11. Hmmm... I wonder if the threat of foundation money being...
... pulled isn't also a consideration.

Somehow I think Rhee is going to be hard to get rid of. Elections come and go. There's an awful lot of private $$$$ invested already. I don't see the privatizers just walking away from their flagship enterprise.

12. When Rhee was on Kojo Nnamdi last week
she made it as clear as she could without actually saying it that she has no interest in working under a mayor other than Fenty.

13. Meh. Bloomberg said in 2007 that pols who wanted...
... to overturn term limits ( twice passed by referenda in NYC elections) were "disgusting."

By 2008 he was feverishly and furiously lobbying/buying/cajoling/threatening every pol in sight to ... you guessed it... overturn term limits so he could buy a third term.

Which he did.

Point: these people have no shame and since they essentially own the media there is little risk of public opprobrium attached to a decision to "reconsider"... no matter how ludicrous it may seem to you or me.

I can't picture the Washington Post, for instance, holding Rhee's feet to the fire should she decide... in her infinite wisdom and magnanimity.... that the welfare of the school children of DC is at stake and she's got to stay on... to ensure "stability".
