The city has declared a state of emergency. The interstate highways are shut down.
Other than a few convenience stores, businesses are closed across the city.

The National Guard is on the streets.

Every 15 minutes the TV people break into programming to tell us to stay home out of the blizzard.

And our dumbass school district is insisting that all employees in the admin building come to work tomorrow.

:banghead:

4. I wouldn't either - it's not worth getting stuck or maybe getting in a wreck. It's not
as though there will be a lot of kids there, either I'm guessing.

7. Schools are closed. This is central office.
They are open and are telling those employees to come in.

5. I don't have to go in.
Schools are closed.

But they are calling the central office people telling them to come in tomorrow.

I wonder if the National Guard will park their cars for them?

9. Right; god forbid the education bureaucracy should shut down for a day.
The end of civilization as we know it.

8. Growing up near Chicago, I remember some monster blizzards.
Haven't seen one in a long time, though. Good luck!

11. No-one should be put in harms way for something like that.
In these conditions, only the professionals who are trained to do plowing, fire, police and utility work should go out. I'm surprised the state has not called an official state of emergency. I'm sure when this mess hits us, the governor will make the call.

12. Somehow... in some way... this is all your fault.
You are, after all, a teacher.
