1. From my POV, it wouldn't make a lot of difference.
What's happening now is big $$$$ moving to control public schools. ( i.e via privatization or de facto privatization). They're working now on the fed level 'cause that's where they have to work to achieve what they want to achieve.
But they can just as easily $$$$ influence the individual states, seems to me.
that is staffed by professional educators and committed to seeing that all public, K-12 schools were funded equitably and that guaranteed that those prepared for higher education were not priced out of that opportunity (free universities). it is not the department of educations job to sponsor divisive, corporate driven reforms aimed at re-segregating the school population and providing un-equal educational opportunities for our nation's students.
