I am (grudgingly) beginnng to respect the Log Cabin Republicans.
Most vote Republican to get the tax cuts and have no illusions that their party actually gives a shit about them.

We, on the other hand, gladly line up again every four years thinking it will be different this time, just you wait and see, oh yessir buddy!

It's like Charlie Brown and Lucy and the football.

I'm tired of being played for a sucker.

1. Actually, I have no illusions about any politicians.
It's their supporters who disappoint me over and over again. If only I could remember that many Democrats are just as big assholes as Republicans, I wouldn't be disappointed again and again.

I don't know that I totally agree with your position on Log Cabin Republicans, but I do feel played by the Democratic candidates that we ultimately help elect.

There are so many other issues when considering the alternative of yet another Republican scoundrel. What are we supposed to do? I did not give any campaign donations to Obama or Clinton, but I did give my vote.

I don't think it's a choice between two evils, but I do feel seriously disrespected. How do we break the cycle? When do we say no?

OMG. I think you're on to something. I have often compared the LCRs as "Jews for Hitler." Taking that comparison a step further, does that make us "Jews for Röhm?" eww.

3. Your Post Makes Perfect Sense......

And I For One Appreciate You Saying It!

I also agree with something "mitchtv" said a week or so back.... that I will never again make fun of Log Cabin Republicans.....

The real question in the end is:

What Are Queers Really Going To Do About The Repeated Maltreatment?

The Sad Answer In The End Is: "Nothing", "Zip, "Nada", "Zilch", "Nil", "Naught".... and lastly, the ever popular, and very frighting Queer response that makes politicos literally shake in their Gucci Loafers "Zero"......

Queers won't do a fucking thing..... and that's why the treatment will remain the same until the GLBTQ Community grows some balls, and decides "I'm Not Going To Help Others Financially, Nor With Votes Whom Treat Me Like A Piece Of Shit"......

Christ Almighty...... Are The Majority Of Queers In This Country Suffering From The "Stockholm Syndrome"..... or some other Queer Malady that I am unaware of that makes them ache for the "Hit Me Again Like You Mean It This Time Treatment"?

4. Maybe it's time...
to look into something different. There are alternative parties out there...we make a two-party system self-fulfilling when we vote for one of the others over voting for groups that might really be capable of bringing about change. It's like Americans have been brainwashed--no other party but the two sets of clowns and backstabbers of either Democrap or Rethuglican persuasion that we elect every four years.

Wake up! Neither party wants anything to do with us other than our money and our votes. Next time I am voting third party..if it throws away my vote, then so be it. At least I'll be voting my conscience.

Hey! Maybe I should change my ID to "Not-So-Retired Trotskyite".

6. I completely get what you're saying.
But they embarrass me horribly whenever I see them around Republicans and I know the Republicans are just laughing inside knowing they're getting free votes.

They take the free votes and know they will never have to give anything in return.

And teh GOP gays just stand there like dopes going, oh, okay, whatever you say. :eyes:

That's humiliating to me.

Do the Democrats screw us?

Of course.

But my vote in November was not for Obama.

It was for the Supreme Court Justices. Period.

And if we can get the court in our favor, we can side-step the Dems on a lot of issues.

I can dream.

But I can be a fool too I guess.

15. That's been my attitude for a while. If no party will seriously advocate for you, you can at least
look out for yourself.

There's only one huge glitch in that: the Repubs are so fucked up that unless you're really wealthy you're not going to personally benefit from their policies.
