depressed and dejected.

The only posts I bother with in DU anymore are in this forum, and one other.

I went from Anger to "what can I do" to depression.

Shit. What is the next step? It's not "acceptance," I know that.

Damn. Damn. Damn.

Sickening.

WTF is wrong with this stupid assed country....WTF is wrong with Democrats???

ON EDIT: Yes I know this is a whiny assed post and I apologize--- sorry.

1. It is depressing. All obama has to do is REMOVE Warren, but he won't. I'm a bit shocked nt

2. If that happened
I swear to God I would feel better. I just feel like this is a sign of things to come, and that's the real problem.

I am sickened.

6. Donnie McClurkin, it seems, was just the opening act.
I did "get over" that finally, worked hard, help Obama get elected. Now this.

15. I strongly defended Obama over the McClurkin affair
saying that Obama was not going to be present at McClurkin's fundraising concert, and that Obama had given no evidence he believed in Exodus, the group that tries to "cure" gays.

Now we have Rick Warren. It is more than a coincidence when coupled with Obama's declaration he opposed same sex marriage (while his own congregation supported it). Obviously the case can be made that Obama has a "gay" problem and that he needs to do some serious soul-searching.

Obama must revoke Warren's invitation.

21. I looked the other way
and I accepted the excuses that he didn't know, it wasn't a big deal and it won't happen again. I accepted them without believing them. I "reached out" and compromised. I sat politely with the bigots and smiled.

I was 100% wrong, and I can't say sorry enough.

7. The good news is this may be exactly what the country needs to...
...get enough straight Americans to stand up and be counted on this issue.

YES WE CAN make Barack see the error of this decision ~ we just have to keep the issue on the front burner long enough for him to feel the heat.

(I'm not gay, I hope it's okay for me to post in this forum.)

14. A question that will lead you to the answer to your own
Warning, it might get you even more depressed.

The question is: What do Barack Obama and Rick Warren have in common?

Hint: Almost every major political appointee from either party in recent memory has the same thing in common.

is if the Warren pick got ignored. Every other thread on DU right now seems to be about this issue and I think that's great! I guess I love to fight when I know its about something important.

17. I know the feeling; Prop 8 bummed me out so I couldn't feel "Victor-y"
Edited on Mon Dec-22-08 03:24 PM by kenny blankenship
I had about 12 hours of Victor-y, then I found out the bad news. I haven't been right since.

The Warren Commission thing is a like a fucking knife stuck in my eye. They keep twisting the knife.

As I see it, there is not much choice left to us. We can do nothing, in which case we may as well disengage from political life altogther. Or we can demonstrate to our "leaders" that there will an unacceptably high price to pay for betraying us. People will hate us for it and it probably won't work. But what have you left to lose? As for the haters, fuck them anyway.

19. Don't apologize
The situation is brutal and it's sickening to see ridiculous 'love thy bigot' screeds getting 50+ recs around here.

The same thing is going on over at Kos.

But like Charlie Brown, I'm not going to let these idiots spoil my Christmas. This is for you and a big hug too:

20. I'm thinking about shutting it all down.
The news, the stories, the computer. Starting the day before Christmas Eve, shut them all down for 3 days and try to enjoy Christmas as best you can and the day after Christmas.

That is the only thing I can think of to say and it is what I plan to do. I'm going to try to enjoy the holidays and time off. The same bullshit we have to fight all the time will still be here when we get back from spending time with our families.

In the meantime,
