Bull's eye. I thought I had dozed off in front of the box and wasn't sure it wasn't a dream.

What will be interesting is to see how many outlets refuse to run it because they don't want to rile the phobes.

Pitiful and disgusting if you ask me. I usually do paruse the comments on youtube but I have limited net access this week. Probably better I didn't see them otherwise I would have blown a fuse.

All of Haruka's sister's friends used to all say that -- even though NONE of them are homophobes -- they are all nice kids. Haruka finally got her sister to see it was offensive,and didn't "just" mean stupid or cheesy. And, like I said, these are all great kids -- many came to our wedding and/or gave us gifts.

My brothers no longer say it either. It was something we grew up with because all the kids at school at the time used it and that's one of the reasons I was very happy to see the commercial!

6. That is a much, much more powerful version.

But it won't reach people who take pride in their views even when they are wrong. There are people who defend their views and actions even more strongly when you show that they're wrong. I'm not sure what would make them change their behavior. :(

However, for the people smart enough to get the point and open enough to consider it and learn from it, I think this could be effective. I just hope that's more than just a few people.

14. I asked my kids not to use it and to ask their friends not to use it.

My younger son has really embraced the cause. He's a football player, too, and it's not easy telling entire locker rooms of other football players not to use a phrase they've never thought was wrong. He does it, though. I'm so proud of him.
