5. I was an ACT UP activist in the early 90s.
I was in the March on Washington.

I will not sit down.

I will not shut up.

I will not go away.

I'm here. I'm a flaming faggot. And I'm not going anywhere.

6. Silence is...
Silence is acceptance.
Silence is acquiescence.
Silence is agreement.
Silence is allowing.
Silence is apathy.

8. At the very least
Silence = unlocked threads.

Seems like unless we're trading recipes, we're bothering someone. That reminds me.

14. I would not dream of asking you to shut up.
One thing that I feel even more strongly about than equality is freedom of speech.

16. Wrong words and actions = death also.
The framework of an argument and the manner in which it is presented are important also.

When in doubt, don't just do something .... stand there ..... at least for a moment.

17. Apathy = Oppression ??
I'm saddened, yet not surprised, to see how the momentum of our community's activism has died off so quickly after Prop 8's passage. I was hoping the outrage over Obama's choice of Rev. Rick Warren would reignite our community into action -- protests, marches, non-violent acts of civil disobedience, etc. Maybe we will see the large numbers of participants once again come Jan. 10th for Join the Impact's National DOMA Protest.
