they can't, politically. once the GLBT issue is off the table, they'll have what...abortion? they need at least one other scapegoat to deliver the fundy vote.

for the same reason, i suspect nothing substantial will be done to abortion rights.

1. Why do you think I asked Boxer NOT TO SLOW
down the anti abortion measures in a recent bill?

I fully want the consequence of the vote to be felt by Muricans... maybe then the kool aid will wear off

2. How many states...
...currently have DoMAs or have already amended their states constitution with their own version of an FMA?

Bush has control of Congress, and the Senate, so all that is left is what the states will do.

Musgrave has stated that she will re-introduce the FMA next year, and Bush* said this time it will pass, so how many states has Bush* got control over?

But yeah, you are right, once the issue of gays is all over with, then they will be moving on to something else. They won't stop until the people of the U.S. lives their life by the so called "morality" laws they set up. Those laws are obviosuly going to be passed without so much as a debate. See:

3. When GLBT is off the table?
We will NEVER be off the table until we

1) sodomy is illegal again

2) our relationships not only receive no benefits, but are taboo to express (no civil unions, DPs).

3) one senator is already calling for the firing of gay teachers.

4) the next move will be to destroy outreach of all gays to gay youth.

5) it goes on and on and on.

I mean, come on, the christian dominionists in the house and senate believe that we should be executed.

We are the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to rousing freeper hatred.

4. I don't think the FMA will pass,
but even if it did, as readmoreoften said, the war against gays will not have ended. However, they may go on to limit divorce. After all, that's "defending marriage," isn't it?
