Minnesota's biggest homophobe outs family member
Q: What do Minnesota State Senator Michele Bachmann and Dick Cheney have in common?

A: They both want to deny basic human rights to gay members of their own family.

In a speech before the right wingnut Maple River Education Coalition (MrEd) in Bloomington November 6, 2004, Bachmann, Minnesota biggest homophobe and author of the proposed state constitutional amaendment to ban gay marriage and civil unions, outed a family member to drive home her point that being "in the gay lifestyle" is evil:

"Any of you who have members of your family that are in the lifestyle - we have a member of our family that is. This is not funny. It’s a very sad life. It's part of Satan, I think, to say this is gay. It's anything but gay."

Bachmann then goes on to claim: "It's profoundly sad to recognize that almost all, if not all, individuals who have gone into the lifestyle have been abused at one time in their life, either by a male or by a female. There’s been profound hurt and profound things that have happened in almost all of their lives."

Hmmm. I wonder how Bachmann's family member feels about being used as a prop in Mom's speeches about the "evil" of homosexuals.

Bachmann spews a lot more tripe before her fan club. It's amazing what she says when she thinks the only ears that will hear her are friendly. Read all about "The Effects of Gay Marriage on Education" here: www.dumpbachmann.com .

1. two questions come to mind here.
One, did she actually name her gay family member?

Two, she says people become gay as a result of abuse. So she has a gay family member. Who in her family did the abusing? It wasn't her, was it?

3. Maybe if she got laid sometime
she wouldn't be worrying about everyone else's sex life.

5. Condemn the victim, not the abuser
Even if it WERE true that the gay member of her family is gay due to abuse, it's revolting that this bitchmeister is condemning the abuse victim rather than turning her attack on the abuser.

Fucked up republicans.
