Prop 8 ruling to be Thursday.
As it so appears the San Francisco police department is setting up police barricades around the Castro. Someone from the department has let slip that they are to prepare for a prop 8 ruling this Thursday. Doesn't mean that they told them which way they were going to rule, but it certainly doesn't look good for us. :/

We'll make it though, regardless. ^_^

1. I'm sure that trend-setting Californians will be proud, proud to drag their knuckles
to the back of the line behind Iowa and other states who have recognized that equal rights under the Constitution means equal rights - period!

It will be another day of shame in CA if the CASC upholds this repugnant denial of basic rights to gays by a simple majority vote of the god-believing bigots in this state.

3. If you take away the black and Hispanic vote, 8 would have failed
People don't like to talk about that, but the exit polls don't lie.

2. Get ready for another referendum
Either a new vote to re legalize gay marriage (every day more and more elderly homophobes go "CROAK", moving us closer to equality) or there will surely be a recall election organized by the other side, against the justices, if they overturn 8.

4. You know, this reminds me what a friend said once...
Don't talk to me about gay marriage, this will be on the ballot for the next 20 years.

We'll win. :) Don't worry.

6. They need to repeal this.
Why not once and for all say ballot initiatives dealing with the curtailment of civil rights are strictly prohibited? Otherwise, as someone else mentioned, we'll have a back and fourth every two years. I think the justices will surprise everyone and strike this down. Despite what they indicated during the hearing, I can't see them willing to set such a dangerous precedent.

8. If they don't repeal it, there should be vigils like on the day Harvey was killed.

9. Next initiative: Mormonism is not in any way a Christian religion.
That would burn their asses.

10. They go door to door and try to "recruit" people into their lifestyle ...
a lifestyle choice many people find offensive.

12. Cal.Supreme Court ruling re: Prop 8
this is NOT true. The court will NOT rule on Prop 8 thursday, May 21 (anniversary of the White Night Riots. you only have to go to the California Supreme Court website and under announcements of future opinion filings it says "no opinion filings for thursday, may 21". sorry, ya'll jumped the gun. those barricades might be for Harvey Milk's birthday celebs on friday, may 22.

13. There are numerous independent reports that a "high ranking official"...
asked that the ruling be delayed. There were also reports that both San Diego PD and SFPD were put on notice of a pending ruling on Thursday, but that the court was asked to delay said ruling due to concerns of the ruling coinciding with the anniversary of the White Night riot.

18. I disagree. If they are going to rule against us, they should do it tomorrow.
It is helpful to keep our national days of shame on the same date.

and let the riots take place. 30 years later we're no better off.

20. I don't think they know which way the ruling will go but they just want to be prapared...
for any eventuality. I am still hoping that it will be overturned, but if it isn't, the campaign to repeal it in 2010 starts immediately.
