"That's so gay." on TV game show just now. By a host.

It's a show called Wipeout. In an event called The Sweeper, contestants stand on pillars in a pool. The sweeper comes through at calf height and the contestant has to jump over it without falling off his pillar. As the event progressed one host says something like "that so graceful" just then two contestant fall at the same time and a host (offscreen) says "synchronized falling". The other host )offscreen) says, "That's so gay."

WTF?

4. I have mixed feelings about that whole "thats so gay" southparky thing.

I'm thinking of Chris Rock. There were a lot of black comedians who made fun of both whites and blacks, and I feel they really diffused racial tension, and ultimately worked against racism in the US. This might not be popular here, but I'm wondering if it might not be a bad thing if us queers did the same thing a little, and laughed along, then took the bull by the horns and defined "gay" and "strait" in a way that makes people laugh, like so many comedians have done for racial tensions. Just a thought.

8. I don't consider myself overly sensitive.

Chris Rock is rated R.

My objection to "that's so gay" is that it's a derogatory expression that apparently originated in very young people and shouldn't be validated by adults, whether they are the writers for South Park or hosts on a Prime Time gameshow.
