H.R. 1283, Military Readiness Enhancement Act of 2009
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.1283:

111th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. R. 1283

To amend title 10, United States Code, to enhance the readiness of the Armed Forces by replacing the current policy concerning homosexuality in the Armed Forces, referred to as `Don't Ask, Don't Tell', with a policy of nondiscrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

March 3, 2009

Don't people pay any attention AT ALL?

Is anybody even LISTENING to the GLBT community and its allies?

All you who complain about "hyperbole"... maybe people wouldn't feel the need to make bold, attention-getting statements, if you showed any signs of HEARING the ordinary conversation that's been going on all along.

1. But but but Obama can't do it alone!!
Why isn't anyone in Congress sponsoring a bill? Why hasn't anyone told Pelosi about this bill?

And so on and so on on the merry-go-round of excuses.

4. No, too often 'hypoberle' is bred by indifference.

It's amazing how many people who claim to be progressives simply have no knowledge of the GLBT civil rights movement. It's as if, to some, 'the gays' just popped up in 2007, solely for the purpose of annoying Obama supporters.
