"In July 2008, hotelier and developer Doug Manchester donated $125,000 to help gather signatures for a proposition that would ban same-sex marriage in California.....
On Oct. 9, 2008, Manchester ended 43 years, eight months and nine days of marriage to Elizabeth Manchester by moving out of their La Jolla abode...."

Too bad he married before prenups came into fashion. I guess he'll have to sell his 160-acre private park in northern San Diego County, his 7,590-square-foot oceanfront mansion in costly La Jolla (which he wants $35 million for - and it had a fire during construction, probably due to a subcontractor that didn't get paid), and his hotels including the largest hotel in southern Califiornia, the 1,625-room Manchester Grand Hyatt, the Whitetail Club in McCall, Idaho, Campbell Industrial Park in Honolulu, Sorrento Valley Industrial Park in San Diego; Bay Cliffs Condominiums in San Diego, Creekside, a luxury residential development in Sun Valley, Idaho and his many other holdings, along with his major, controlling interest in the $1.2 billion redevelopment project planned for the bayfront property in downtown San Diego formerly occupied by the Navy pier and support buildings, and about a year ago received conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to start his own bank in California.
Poor Dougie-poo, my heart just bleeds for him.
