Do I hate Dave Matthews because I'm gay?

I can't stand the idea of Dave Matthews. The funny thing is, I can actually listen to some of his songs, as long as I don't know it's him.

6. His music does nothing for me at all, and life is too short,

I did find one tune his band did that I liked, a cover of "All Along The Watchtower"-I liked the way it was arranged, but I have heard other versions I prefer.

5. Musicians I know lump him in with Jimmy Buffet and not in a good way.

I like some Jimmy Buffet songs from way back.

I can't stand Dave Matthews. I think he's the most overrated musician in history.

People always say things like "Well, it's subjective." and yet, all but the strangest person find a puddle of vomit repulsive. So, wouldn't it be safer to say that good taste or subjective approval falling within a range allows room for disagreement but that there are extremes? If so, then wouldn't a group of artists who seem to independently view another artist as a hack, if we can account for and remove envy, have an insider point of view which we might consider valuable especially if they can articulate specific and common criticisms?

13. I liked the Nickelback first song. I like a reedy male vocal, even Neil Young.

Though Young can be a bit whiny. There are a couple of notes he hits that I really enjoy:

Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things that don't get lost.
