Naval Academy Gay Grads Apply For Alumni Chapter
http://www.365gay.com/newscon04/11/111204navyAlum.htm

As the nation observed Veterans Day, gays and lesbians in the military continue their fight for recognition.

In San Francisco, a group of gay graduates of the Naval Academy who have been trying since last year to get official recognition for an alumni chapter say they are prepared to apply again.

Last year, with 32 members, the group was turned down by the governing board of the Naval Academy Alumni Association. The group has now grown to 66 members.

In rejecting the application last December the NAAA said that the group's charter was based too specifically on a special interest, its membership would be too exclusive, and it wasn't centered on a geographical area. (story)

bullshit!--they're just afraid to admit that there were gays and lesbians who were in the military and served honorably
