I'm going crazy trying to think of the title of a movie!

I've seen clips on Youtube, but for the life of me I cannot recall what the name of the movie is. I'll tell you what I remember of it and if you can help me out I'd be very grateful.

The movie appears to take place in a rural setting. One of the boys in the movie apparently drives bus for the local school. He and another boy, who seems to be new to town, become romantically involved. In the movie it looks as though one of the boys might have died a violent death at the hands of someone who desired him.

I remember one of the comments asking if the boy died and someone said that in the book that the movie was based on the boy lived, but in the movie he did indeed die but came back as a ghost.

And that's about all I remember.
