So I get a call this evening from the DCCC, asking if they could count on my support for the upcoming 2010 mid terms...

DCCC: blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, Sara Palin, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, Scott Brown, blah, blah, blah.

Me: I am sorry, but I only contribute to individual Democratic candidates who have demonstrated they deserve my support.

DCCC: But if you contribute to DCCC, all democratic candidates benefit, blah, blah, blah.

Me: Including blue dogs, and anti-gay democrats. Sorry pal, this Gay ATM is closed.

Felt even better than I thought it would.

3. I got a call from them today too!

The guy on the phone was pushy and aggressive, so I already didn't like him. It's really weird to have someone act like a bully - when they are making an unsolicited call to me, not the other way around. I started laughing a few seconds into his speech when I realized what he was calling for.

I wish I'd thought to mention donating to individual candidates. I asked if troops were out of Afghanistan yet, and mentioned DADT and said I wasn't going to donate to bigots. He was pretty pissed off by the time I hung up on him. :)

7. My ATM Is Closed Too

I refuse to support any political party that is part of keeping me from enjoying full citizenship and equality under the law. I have given thousands of dollars of the past few years to the DNC and other Democratic groups and I still do not enjoy equality in my own country.

I will contribute to individual Democratic candidates as well, but I cannot bring myself to these blanket organizations knowing my money will go to those who support this amazingly lackluster "support" of GLBT rights.

They don't call me because I don't give them my (unlisted) number, but every time I get a letter i send it back with a piece of my mind.
