Some people will go out of their way to avoid having to associate with gay people (MS "fake" prom)

I mean think about this for a minute. To pull this all off, you would have to lie or mislead the judge that "Oh yes, we'll hold a private prom off campus (tee hee)", devise a willing host to hold the fake prom (I guess the country club was an accomplice to this stunt), plan a private prom to which 99% of the class would be invited, AND THEN have a bunch of 17-18 year old kids keep the whole thing secret, as well as all of their parents and the school staff and faculty.

The fact that they pulled this all off--you just try asking high school seniors to keep ANYTHING secret, especially girls--reveals just how determined they were to not include gays at their little event.

If there ever needed to be a "Carrie" moment, it would have been at that prom.

all the people who participated in this shameful event, they have NO gay relatives, NO gay friends, NO gay aquaintances, NO gay coworkers? Is that gal (and her partner) the only GLBTs in town? W.T.F.

They undoubtedly do. But for safety's sake, they must just hide.

yet in their tiny little minds they are "real America" and "family values". It's sad and pathetic and more proof to me that I am living in Bizarro World.

cover it, and I can't believe the parents payed for two rooms, which either meant that the country club donated the room (knowingly or unknowingly), or it means the school rented the hall. plus, apparently there were special needs kids at the fake prom; if there is any proof that they were also hoodwinked by the school or by other students, they may have another discrimination suit on their hands.
