Lesbian Debauchery in Oklahoma
http://www.alternet.org/election04/20162

Anybody familiar with this nut case. I knew Oklahoma was back wards. And yes, I have been there, I have relatives in the state and was there just a few months ago. Just amazes me how people can vote for a wacko like Tom Coburn.

If liberals are so full of hate and immorality, why are there no examples of extremest democratic politicians?

2. I remember this asshole...
he was pilloried by sensible people everywhere around election time. Poster boy for the wingnuts.

Dunno if this was a supid gaffe that his campaign managed to cover or if the people out there actually bought into it.

3. I WAS going to drive through OK this year, but
With all that debauchin going on, I am not sure I would feel safe on the highways. Do you think they have a hetersexual route?

4. Thought Coburn was bad
newly elected Sen. Jim DeMint from South Carolina is just as bad. He wanted to ban unwed pregnant mothers and homosexuals from teaching in South Carolina - he eventually said he was sorry about his comment referring to unwed pregnant mothers, but was not sorry for his comment on gays.

6. Many years ago law school taught me a lot about the various
state laws together with too many years to count in the practice of family law, juvenile law, and individual rights law. Oklahoma and its laws are nothing more nor less than Texas which is first on the list of horribles -- Oklahoma deserves to be entitled "Northern Texas" due to its culture and state laws.

As such I am never suprised at what Oklahoma dishes out whether in persons or in legalities.

11. Yes, TaleWgnDg.
This recently-graduated J.D. wants to know, "didn't Texas v. Lawrence" preclude enforcement of such laws ('sodomy,' 'sodomy'-related) in both Texas and Oklahoma (and nationwide)? I believe so, correct?

7. Remove the word 'gay' and insert 'Jew' -- sound familiar?
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 05:26 PM by 94114_San_Francisco
<snip>
And according to the online magazine Salon.com, at a political meeting held just last spring, Coburn warned his fellow Republicans that “the gay community has infiltrated the very centers of power in every area across this country, and they wield extreme power. (The gay) agenda is the greatest threat to our freedom that we face today.
<snip>

Yes. Yes. I know my subject line is excessive but I ask you, "Why shouldn't I be worried?"

There are a couple of things I wish I had the answers to:

1) Who benefits from Coburn's dehumanization of LGBT's? and why is it such an attractive political option? I think the answers to those questions are far more complicated (nefarious) than we choose to believe.

2) Given the opportunity to resolve the gay agenda/gay power 'dilemma' once and for all - how far would the RepubliCONS go to fulfill their political ideology? Feel free to dismiss me as paranoid but if extremists like Coburn (and Santorium, etc.) continue to fill the Senate (and House) over the next 10 years, you won't recognize this country and when the xenophobia is at last turned inward regarding domestic policies - oh boy! It'll be a nightmare.

edit: word choice

..."The condom will work for you and for me if we use it perfectly and use it every time,” he said. “The problem is that the majority of people just don’t use them like that.”

x( He's flat out wrong in his second sentence and it's time for us to prove it!

Incidentally, we'll stop the spread of spread of AIDS and other STD's in our community. When news of the cessation of AIDS reaches his ears on Capitol Hill, of course he'll just deny it. Then he'll become the laughing stock of the country!

***Don't fuck without water-base-lubed condoms, PERIOD!***
