NOM's Hate Bus Is Rolling

NOM's 23-city hate tour kicks off next Wednesday in Augusta, Maine and the bus is on its way from Atlanta. Visit their Flickr page and drop off a sweet comment or two, if you'd like. We haven't heard much about any countering tour appearances by LGBT groups. Email me with your plans and I'll post them here (this refers to the owner of Joe.My.God, not me.)

UPDATE: ShowMeNoHate will stage an Action Against NOM in St. Louis when the hate bus rolls in on Thursday, August 5th.

right in their religious hypocrisy. All you need is s simple sign-- "Why does NOM Hate Jesus?", or, to the point "NOM Hates Jesus". Then other signs that quote Jesus, like the one about the mote in your eye, the Beatitudes, the turn the other cheek, love they neighbor, etc. Oh yes, the one that Jesus said (referring to divorce) "What God Hath joined, let no man put asunder."
All you have to do to refute ANYTHING they say is to refer back to the teachings of Jesus, and ask them, "How can you claim to be a Christian, and refuse to do what Jesus told you to do?"

The NOM shtick is based on cherry picked Old Testament verses, and they will refuse to hear anything you have to say, except, when you start quoting Jesus back to them. Then they have to listen and that is when you call them on their game.

"Hey, bravo you guys. I think it's awesome that y'all are protecting marriage by making divorce illegal. Wait... you're doing WHAT? Uh, never mind, then."

"That's great that you van will be protecting marriage between one man and one woman. Because we all know that if two people of the same sex were allowed to marry it would cause the man and woman to cheat on each other, abuse their children, and steal from the employers."

"WooHoo! All aboard the Hate Van! "

"Wait a moment - that guy on your van - he looks familiar - I think I slept with him about a month ago. He said his wife was out of town and he wanted to know what it felt like to be a real man. "
