So like, if my wife leaves me for another younger man and I'm left with no one in my life, does that mean I might turn to being gay to fill that void?

Do I need to beware of toilet seats so I don't pick up the "gay"?

Her thoughts on lesbians is quite interesting indeed. It would be more interesting if Elizabeth actually had a coherent thought with a little more oxygen being fed to her before she speaks..

only puts out that fragment of a quote, I don't see where Hasselbeck ties it to being a lesbian in that remark. Maybe you have a source with a more complete context.

Hasselbeck is stupid, but it's not right if this is a Shirley Sherrod.

But, still, I look at it, and have to wonder.

Whoopi Goldberg asked the question about late-bloomer lesbian activity. If you accept the premise of her question, that women who have gone on for years as heterosexual suddenly start forming same-sex relationships (and anyone really gives a damn why) then what is the 'cause'?

If those women saw heterosexuality as their only viable choice some years ago, and they were inherently bisexual, then it makes some sense that they chose heterosexual relationships back in the 1950's and onwards. Once they no longer have an 'acceptable' male partner (sometimes because they have been left) then they explore the other side of their sexual orientation. Hasselback sounds stupid in this case, but perhaps she has stumbled on to a truth, no matter how clumsily she got there.

If we really need to ask the question about why older women sometimes express a preference for same-sex relationships later in life, then her answer is no better or worse than any other I've heard. Or maybe I'm missing something here that someone can enlighten me on.
