DeGeneres fired from Idol because, "There is a limit to what Christian viewers will tolerate..."
"There is a moral to the story of this DeGeneres-Idol saga. There is a limit to what Christian viewers will tolerate, and I am using 'Christian' in the broadest of definitions. The revenue generating ability of television programming that promotes homosexuality has its limits. If primetime network programming becomes indistinguishable from HBO and Showtime someone else will take ownership of the family-friendly entertainment market.

"The encouragement I take from the firing of DeGeneres is that someone in Hollywood understands what I have been saying; that the promotion of homosexuality and the production of family entertainment do not mix. There is money to be made and there are cultural battles to be fought; if you try to do both you will lose twice. That has been my business advice. Cultural battles have two sides, one of which is immoral. Choose to fight on the immoral side of a cultural battle and any victory you experience will only be temporary. That is my spiritual advice." - Christian Newswire director Gary McCullough, speaking from his wig fitting at Glamor Shots.

According to McCullough, DeGeneres didn't resign voluntarily from American Idol, she was fired because America couldn't take her filthy lesbionic ways. (Ways which America can take, apparently, five times a week for five years on an hour-long one-lesbo show syndicated to 200+ U.S. markets.)

3. Wow, that's pretty sick.
Interesting McCullough doesn't include himself in his quote, "There is money to be made and there are cultural battles to be fought; if you try to do both you will lose twice."

7. She left of her own accord. Kara is the one who was fired....
They both added nothing to the show or its ratings. The judging panel is being revamped and will be back at three judges only, the way it should have been in the first place.

9. Ellen should change her mind and stay on the show just to piss-off McCullough.
Edited on Mon Aug-02-10 07:09 AM by Ian David
Or maybe Fox should replace Ellen with RuPaul.

14. How does he explain the fact that she has one of the highest-rated daytime talk shows?
It's usually on when all the little kiddies and their stay-at-home parents are at home. And it is one of the most "family-friendly" of the daytime talk shows around.

15. McCullough is ignorant and clueless about the show.
The times I have seen the show there has been no slant towards a homosexual agenda. So I wonder what is McCullough's problem? He is probably very twisted.

16. There are several truths at play here. Truth #1: The religious "wrong" DID
object to Ellen being on the panel. So what. That should have been expected.

Truth#2: Ellen didn't have a musical background experience and was considered waste of space by many viewers that love her as a tv host, by not as a judge of musical talent. Ellen was unpopular with a lot of viewers in part because she was seen as superfluous.

Truth#3: A lot of viewers objected to the 4 judge panel since its inception when they added Kara. I'm one of those viewers. For me the show should be about the contestants, not the judges. I wish there were no judges at all.

Truth#4: The original AI producer, Nigel Lithgow (sp?) is returning to rescue the show from its declining ratings. He is in favor of a three judge panel and stated that from the day Kara was added. Reports state that he is not only getting rid of Ellen, but is getting rid of Kara as well because she is unpopular with the viewers. For the record, she is straight.

Truth#5: Do we really need a parrot for Randy Jackson? Basically, Ellen just parroted his critiques, often verbatim.

Basically, while it is true that the religious "wrong," objected to her, there are many reasons aside from that for her to be gone from the panel. So, it's not safe to assume that is "the" reason she is gone.

21. I couldn't stand Kara, and think the judging should be like DWTS
The score should be half judges, half viewers, and only one vote allowed.

25. To be clear. I was commenting about her show not Idol. Both in my opinion are fluff.
And again, I didn't see any indication of a homosexual agenda on her show. Which I believe the idiot is trying to suggest.

19. The replacements for Ellen and Kara are Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler..
I doubt that the religious "wrong" will be anymore welcoming of them. So they really do need to get over themselves. They have nothing to do with Ellen's exit.

22. They have to be on the lookout for more "evil gays" to persecute.
At first, they probably figured Clay Aiken was a one time "fluke" and that the rest of the show was good ol' wholesome Christian entertainment, like that purty little blonde country girl singing for Jesus to take the wheel.

Then Adam Lambert showed up and scared the living Hell out of them. And just when they got over the shock of that, they go and make that heathen "Ellen DeGenerate" one of the judges. The AFA hadn't been so upset since "Tyson Homosexual" won those Olympic qualifying runs.

33. I thought she was leaving because she doesn't know much...
...about pop music. That simon Cowel guy was gay, wasn't he?

"Promoting" homosexuality is like promoting tallness or Italianness. One either is or she isn't. It's as though he were saying that Christians won't tolerate a show that makes it seem okay to be Jewish. It's long past time we stopped pretending that religious prejudice deserves any kind of voice in our society.

36. Typical rightwing cowardice spin tactics - claim victory for a battle you weren't even in.
Lying fuckstains.

But holy shit, I bet they get a lot of donations because now they'll go on the Christian radio and TV shows and talk about how "It was your prayers, people, supported by our organization, that helped rid America of the filthy lesbian acceptance of American Idol and a return of that show to embracing the "America" part of its name - traditional family values, Christian values, godly values. Thank you for your support, but we need a lot more money for our cause to erase the homosexual agenda from our airwaves and away from our children, our precious godly loving children, so please donate."
