2. Road Island, Maine, California, Illinois, Washington then Oregon...
Assuming prop 8 ruling will only effects California.

4. This year? Yep....

Most legislative sessions are over... I'm not even sure any are pressing forward with marriage equality this year. We had HI and Illinois add Civil Unions, this year, give them 5 more years for marriage tops. Next year is an election year, so I'd say wait two years for the next one to drop. Hoping I'm wrong...

7. I think Illinois will lead the small avalanche
that will begin in 2013. This is assuming that there is a pattern of Democratic pick-ups in state legislatures in 2012.

10. I agree on Illinos.
We just got civil-unions, it's a small step up to full equality.

9. More importantly for judges who watch "trends", the next non-coastal state
will probably be New Mexico or Colorado.

Colorado does have to repeal a constitutional amendment, but those are 50%+1 here (stupidly).

Just Kidding. I would say Maryland is the next state. Or Rhode Island. Delaware, Hawaii and Illinois just got civil unions but they will pass gay marriage eventually. I think New Jersey, Maine, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and New Mexico will have gay marriage in the next few years. I think all of the states I mentioned will have gay marriage in the next 7 years or so.

13. Not while Fatass is still in office.
He's already pledged to veto any marriage equality bill that reaches his desk.

14. None.
I don't think another is going to do anything before the matter gets to the Supreme Court.

16. Equal Rights Washington is gearing up for 2012.
However, it's going to be a rough go here because we have to change the state constitution. I think it's gonna take a few years.
