Did you know that the black man run over in Jackson Mississippi was gay?

Perhaps I'm the last to know, or maybe I missed the thread but I haven't seen any reference to the fact here.

I only discovered it recently when my partner mentioned that he'd read that Mr Anderson was survived by his partner, (insert male name) and a 4 year old relative they were raising.

The story was horrible enough already-it occurred about 30 miles south of where I live so its in the news daily. This just made it worse, even more personal to me. He looks like such a sweet, gentle man.

His homosexuality probably did not contribute to his death-I doubt the murderers had any idea of his sexuality, his color was enough for them to beat him senseless before murdering him.

Again, if this is old news I apologies for the duplication. I just didn't want to let it pass unnoticed.

I wish I could be optimistic, but I hope I am wrong.

for the family of Mr Anderson. Hinds county's DA is prominent in the black political community and I believe he will do whatever he can to send as many of these assholes to jail as possible.

Don't read too much into the fact that only two of the punks have been charged-wait until the grand jury has a chance to look at the case. I think we'll see improvement.

Half a dozen of these teenagers left home in the middle of the night with the explicit aim of beating up a black man and when they found one unprotected they did just that, shouting racial obscenities, among other things "Die n****r, die". After beating him for quite a while, some drove off cheering while the others drove their vehicle over his body.

Pretty hard to imagine that kind of depravity.

Unfortunately nothing ceases to amaze me anymore.

They make a damned good point in that video. If those kids had been anything other than white, and the victim had been a white guy, every news channel, newspaper, and magazine would be covering the story of those minority kids who went out and killed that white guy in this premeditated hate crime. It would be the store of the week everywhere. But because this was a group of white racist kids who killed a black man, and a black man who we find out is gay, this is not getting any traction in the media.
