Is Being Gay a Choice? Herman Cain Clams Up
When MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell asked Herman Cain Thursday to explain his beliefs about LGBT people, his answer was short.

"Next question, please," he declared almost immediately.

The insurgent Republican presidential candidate was being asked to elaborate on something he said while a guest on The View.

"How can you say that being gay is a choice?" the question came in from Twitter on O'Donnell's show. "Did you choose to be straight?"

Cain had just come off a bruising discussion with O'Donnell about whether he sat out of the civil rights movement while in college. So Cain's answer was brusque.

1. Typical of the Cain type, they proclaim their prejudicial crap then
refuse to discuss it. It is a one way slander they expect, they think they have the right to. He's a craven little punk.

2. I usual word it as: "Tell me about when you made
the decision to be straight."

That usually makes them realize it ISN'T a choice.

3. No. RWers don't know what they're talking about
In fact, they don't know anything, but I digress.

As a straight man, I do not recall as a teenager waking up in the morning and saying "Gee, I guess I'll be straight instead of gay." I do remember seeing a girl my age and thinking, "I want one of those," although getting one took a few years.

4. Herman is right,
just as he chose to be black, other people have chosen to be gay.
