Randy Thomasson Insists Gay History Law Will Turn Kids Gay

Social conservative Randy Thomasson is urging parents to opt out of California's public schools now that an effort to repeal a gay history law has failed.

Foes of Senate Bill 48 (SB 48) or the FAIR Education Act last week conceded that they had been unsuccessful in gathering the 504,760 voter signatures needed to qualify for a repeal initiative in the next statewide ballot.

The law, sponsored by Senator Mark Leno, a Democrat from San Francisco, requires that the California Board of Education and local school districts teach about the historical contributions of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

“And now, the pressing question is – what will parents and grandparents do? SB 48 – mandating homosexual-bisexual-transsexual role models for children as young as kindergarten in K-12 government schools – is going into effect in January, to brainwash kids to think that homosexuality, bisexuality, and cross-dressing is good and natural and maybe even for them,” Thomasson, the president of the group Save California, said at the group's blog.

“The only way to opt out your children from this mess is to exit the government schools and enter the Promised Land of homeschooling and church school.”

a kid we had nothing at all, except if you went to the library and looked it up where it was described as a mental disorder. That sure made one feel good about themselves.

I've known in one way or another since I was 6 that I preferred people of my own gender. A co-ed junior school didn't "cure" me, an all-boys high school frustrated the hell out of me :). I refused to date girls on the grounds that it was dishonest, I wanted to date the boys. To my great distress, neither of the boys at school that I liked most turned gay as a result of me propositioning them.

Even with no role-models and no support for being gay except from the anti-suicide counselors and my dear departed father, I stuck my ground and finally came out in college.

This notion that people can change their sexuality because of exposure to the idea is absolute horseshit. I can not believe that anyone who believes such rubbish has an IQ above 80.
