Michael Marcavage, leader of the anti-gay group Repent America, has filed a federal lawsuit against Lansdowne and its various officials, claiming his rights were violated when he was dragged out of a council meeting last year.
According to his lawsuit, Marcavage was addressing Lansdowne borough council members on July 21, 2004, expressing concern that council would enact measures attracting more gays to Lansdowne, when he was dragged out of the meeting room.
He was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct and disrupting a public meeting. Prosecutors later dropped the charges.
Marcavage, 25, says his constitutional rights were violated, and his reputation was harmed due to the alleged actions of borough officials.
