Gay.com and HRC publish "Corporate Pride Directory"

Very useful resource. It's a searchable directory of every big company with a rating indicating their gay-friendliness. Job-seekers can also search based on different flags like domestic partner benefits and antidiscrimination policies.

1. Does the rank of 9 mean out of 1000 their the top 9th?

Or does the fortune rank have nothing to do with being gay friendly, just how well it's doing as a business?

The Fortune rank is just the company's place on the Fortune 1000. The HRC rating (next column) is the "gay-friendly quotient."

That's a really useful tool since I'm currently looking for work.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there's much here in Kansas and Missouri that rates very high other than Sprint, H&R Block and a few others. I do know of some local companies that are gay-friendly, but apparently they didn't rank high enough to make the list.
