I just finished reading Dan Savage's new book "The Committment"
Basically, it's about Dan and his partner Terry trying to decide whether they should get married. Dan's mom is pressuring them to do so, Terry (and their son, DJ) are opposed to the idea. They ultimately do...they go to Canada....and how he describes the marriage ceremony is quite touching.

"The Committment" is a good look at same-sex marriage itself...anyone (supportive or opposed to same-sex legal marriage) should read this book.

1. He also wrote a long column, once, on the relationship between
his family and the birth mother of his adopted son. Very good, really, and I wish I could remember where I saw it.
