Police Probe Hate Crimes Against Lesbian Student

Police are investigating a series of attacks targeting a 17-year old high school student who is a member of the Tamalpais High School Gay Straight Alliance.

The girl, whose name is not being released, has been pelted with eggs, had her locker and car vandalized, and has been flooded with handmade hate messages. Earlier this week the words "Die Fag" were spray painted in 212-foot letters on the school's wall.

Students at the school say they are disgusted by the attacks. This week many of the students, teachers and administrators wore ribbons to show solidarity with the girl.

Mill Valley is in Marin County--just north of San Francisco

1. One county below where I grew up

A liberal area that went solidly for Kerry. Hatred isn't something that just happens in the red states. It's everywhere. I saw more than my share of it at my Sonoma County schools. And it pisses me off to no end. Even though I hated high school, when I hear stories like this I wish I was back there so I could give these punks a taste of my fist. :mad:

and haven't heard anything about this. If this is true, it is unbelievable in this part of the country.

4. Well it was ten years ago that I graduated

and even in that amount of time, attitudes have changed a lot towards gays for the better. But yeah, it still happens. A lot of nasty taunts, name calling, and the like. I never saw anyone actually assaulted, but gays still had to put up with a lot of shit. Winona Ryder, who went to school at Petaluma High, said she was once knocked down by some guys at school because she had a masculine appearance and they kept calling her "fag." Very sad.

2. this last year Mike Savage went on Tirade about gays not deserving to live

and someone killed a young lesbian that night in NYC, the Presidents tirades against gays is not healthy.. but then he isn't really mentally healthy himself..

has he ever taken his Physical... and mental evaluation yet?????????
