4. Excellent point.

The question is A) how do we focus the American public's mind on the real issues, and B) How do we handle the situation if we can't?

Failure to correctly answer at least one of these questions will result in another stunning, unexpected, and undeserved defeat because Bushco* will be able to keep the vote close enough to steal.

3. Our reply should be
Well, in 2004 you were given the votes needed for this. Why haven't you done anything until now? How really interested are you in this, really?

5. Absolutely!
The point should be made again and again:

The Republicans can campaign; they can't govern.

They had a "mandate" and did NOTHING with it. The American people deserve politicians who deliver on promises as opposed to paying lipservice to their base to pander votes. If you fell for it in 2004, you should be demanding accountability from those who failed to deliver for you in '06.

If you get duped again, you are a fool.

7. I wonder if the proponents of this absurd amendment will ever...
explain the "damage to traditional marriage" that they purport to protect? Hmmmm...

8. Solution: Propose our own Constitutional Amendment
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 08:21 PM by Meldread
I made a thread over in the GD: Everything Else section regarding doing a Amendment of our own. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it's picking up too much traction (getting ignored with all the fast paced scrolling).

That's the link if you're interested. I failed to mention that such an Amendment could be used to defend gay marriage.

9. Isn't Frist marvelous? Keep 'em busy, keep 'em occupied, all

Isn't Frist marvelous? Keep 'em busy, keep 'em occupied, all while he and other neo-cons steal America, both in financial gain to neo-cons and away from the roots of the Founding Fathers.

Deflection, deflection, ahhhhhhhhh, how effective is thy game. History again repeats itself.

11. Scapegoating to get more power. Jesus would be so proud! Maybe
Edited on Sat Jan-28-06 05:03 AM by applegrove
the thinking in religious right wing neocon circles is that Jesus will come back if they start scapegoating people right left and centre. Stopping scapegoating was why he died.

Why can't these "christians" act a little more like the one they claim to follow?

The GOP smug hypocrisy sickens me.

The GOP wants freedom and liberty.....................

For white christian males that is.... How disgraceful... Atleast the GOP is consistant... Using bigotry to get elected... What has become of the land of free??? Makes one wonder; just how bad can it get? Glad I live in NY tho... Things are looking to change a lot after the '06 elections....
