Gay Marriage Case Heads To Connecticut Court
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/03/032006connCourt.htm

The first step in what is expected to be a long journey to the Connecticut Supreme Court begins on Tuesday when a Superior Court judge begins hearing arguments in a case by eight same-sex couples seeking the right to marry.

The couples sued the Department of Public Health and the town of Madison after they were denied marriage licenses in 2004.

The couples are represented by Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders, the Boston-based group that won marriage equality in Massachusetts.

GLAD Senior Staff Attorney Bennett Klein will argue that the refusal to grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples violates the Connecticut Constitution's guarantees of liberty and equality for all of the state's citizens.
