PBS' NOW, hosted by David Brancaccio

Friday, April 7, 2006 on PBS
(Check local listings at http://www.pbs.org/now/sched.html)

==================================================================

This week on NOW:

* Under the Rainbow
A culture war battleground: Florida's ban on gay adoption, challenged by
same-sex couples.

* Interview with Diane Farsetta
David Brancaccio interviews Diane Farsetta, who runs the "No Fake News"
campaign at the Center for Media and Democracy, and co-authored an April
2006 study critical of news station broadcasts.

==================================================================

"Under the Rainbow"

A Florida couple wants to open their home to a challenging foster child
in Florida's overburdened child welfare system. The only problem?
They're gay. And Florida is the only state in the country with a
complete ban on adoptions by gays and lesbians.

NOW talks to couples and politicians looking to change the law, as well
as those dedicated to keeping the ban in place and expanding it to other
states. Both are fighting in the name of family, but who's acting in the
best interest of the children? Next time on NOW.

==================================================================

Interview: Diane Farsetta

David Brancaccio interviews Diane Farsetta, who runs the "No Fake News"
Campaign at the Center for Media and Democracy. "Fake News" refers to
corporate or government video footage that masquerades as news reports
and is delivered to the public as part of a news station broadcast.
Farsetta discusses an April 2006 report she co-authored that is critical
of companies and news stations that employ this deceptive tactic.

2. Thanks for posting this! ;)
I love hearing about these kinds of shows and reading reminders here at DU about gay-related programming.

Thanks again! :applause:
