Rally of religious groups Saturday will work against gay-marriage ban
http://www.azstarnet.com/allheadlines/128819

At least 20 local faith leaders will gather at a Tucson church Saturday to pray for the defeat of an initiative that would amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage.
"I think the other side is trying to say they have the answer for what it means to be a Christian — that if you don't fit into that box you are not welcome," said the Rev. Briget Nicholson of the Midtown First Congregational United Church of Christ. "We wanted to speak to people who are not in that box and let them know they are welcome to worship with us."

Backers of the proposed amendment from the Scottsdale-based Center for Arizona Policy, a conservative public-policy group, introduced their "Protect Marriage Arizona" campaign last May with kickoffs at several Christian churches around the state. The campaign also has packets for pastors to promote the initiative to congregants.
But campaign spokesman Nathan Sproul said the Protect Marriage Arizona campaign is about sound public policy for Arizona, not religion.

1. What a crock
But campaign spokesman Nathan Sproul said the Protect Marriage Arizona campaign is about sound public policy for Arizona, not religion.

Then why is it only religious people are involved in the venture?

3. This is what I love about
the gay marriage debate. Just ask any RWer why there shouldn't be gay marriage.

And, ask them to explain it without using the Bible, since that would be a violation of the Constitution.

*crickets*

4. Indeed
They always try to claim it's about "family values", "tradition" or "American values" but whenever you ask for evidence all they can come up with is their clobber verses from the Bible. :eyes:
