Women's Christian Temperance Union supports "Marriage Protection"
I'm guessing they're still giddy from their 1919 Amendment XVIII success, though perhaps they view 1933's Amendment XXI as a bit of a set back. Anyway, they DO have a history with Constitutional amendments, as lots and lots of people know.

So maybe this is a fun fact to drop onto various conversations ...

WCTU Calls for an Amendment to the U. S. Constitution to Define Marriage

.. A "Special Resolution" calling on all WCTU members to "actively participate" in an effort "to add an amendment to the United States Constitution defining marriage as a sacred union between one man and one woman" was adopted during the 130th Annual Convention of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, held July 29-August 2, 2003 at the Best Western Starlite Village in Des Moines, Iowa ..

Maryland's Delegate, Bunny S. Galladora, submitted the special resolution. It was immediately voted on and unanimously approved.

SPECIAL RESOLUTION
Adopted August 2, 2003
130th Annual Convention
National Woman's Christian Temperance Union

.. BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the National Woman's Christian Temperance Union, assembled at the Best Western Starlite Village in Des Moines, Iowa, commend President George W. Bush for his strong support of traditional marriage.

BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that all members publicly call for and actively participate in efforts to add an amendment to the United States Constitution defining marriage as a "sacred union between one man and one woman."

Sarah F. Ward
National President

1. Protect marriage, outlaw divorce!
I've written several letters but they are ignored. This minority wants to focus on gays as problematic to marriage.

Throw it back at them, to outlaw divorce. Thanks.

4. What will we tell Kindasleazy?
* isn't gonna divorce Pickles 'cause he strongly supports traditional marriage (as well as traditional fooling around). The party of the "sacred union" and Jeff Gannon-Guckert soars on to greater heights of hypocrisy while the chorus of the WCTU sings a medly of songs in praise of goddess fearing sots with shotguns. How are you doing Harry Whittington? Meanwhile the little emperor chews on the Oval Office rug-- the one with the jinyoowine Presidential Seal that Pickles picked for him during simpler times-- and cries for his mommie. Oh, Strong Supporter and Great Decider, we hardly knew ye. The Surreal Republic at Sundown starring Clint Eastwood.

7. Yep
Outlaw divorce, thereby keeping that "sacred union between one man and one woman" intact forever. It doesn't matter if the man is brutally abusing the woman, if he's cheating on her, if he's sodomizing the children or blowing all their money on gambling. Just as long as that "sacred union" remains intact. :sarcasm:
