for myself because I am very interested in being part of the solution. I hope that it is OK for me to interject my thoughts and feelings here as a straight person, I would understand if it is not. I am very interested in this issue as a citizen but also because I cherish my friends who are gay, my brother was gay and I feel it is one of the most important issues facing us today. My state Kansas, believe it or not, struck down the Gay Marriage ban narrowly with an overwhelmingly Republican legislature. The issue did not come up for vote this last election. Now outsiders are stirring the pot and I am terribly afraid it will soon be coming up again and may pass. So I may not say much but I will take any ideas I see and use them to try and block this from happening. :hi: I am so glad you all are here.

but these are issues that can be very personal and sometimes someone not of the group can make a statement that sounds insensitive when it is not meant to be. I am assuming that perhaps the post you responded to was kinda like that. I am just feeling my ground here trying to figure out solutions without interfering.
