MP asked aide 'to dig dirt on gay Tory rival'
A House of Commons researcher who claims he was asked to "dig the dirt" on the private life of a homosexual Conservative candidate felt so exploited he contemplated suicide, an employment tribunal heard yesterday.

Tom Phillips, 36, who is also homosexual, said Candy Atherton, the Labour MP for Falmouth and Cambourne, wanted him to investigate the sexuality of her Tory rival so that she could use it as a "political tool".

Does this sit with the other thread about the Dems abandoning gays?

1. pathetic
but my first question is what was the MP doing using this guy to "dig the dirt" in the first place

I know that no member of Congress could use staff to do pure political work

okay, I know--no member SHOULD use staff to do pure political work
